SECOND MEETING OF REGIONAL
COORDINATION PROJECTS OF INFORMATION ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
INFOCYT - MERCOCYT - RICYT
in Guatemala |
|
Agenda |

|
|

Results
of the Consultation Meeting of INFOCyT
Within the framework of RedHUCyT, a Consultation Meeting of the INFOCyT
Project was held in Santiago, Chile, on April 23-25 1998. The meeting was sponsored by
RedHUCyT and co-organized by the Scientific and Technological National Commission of Chile
(CONICYT). Diverse experts on information systems and databases participated in the
meeting and evaluated alternatives for the expansion of INFOCyT and possible coordination
with other regional information systems.
INFOCyT
facilitates the access to regional data bases by using a common webpage with
pointers provided by the national networks of each country and organized by subjects.
These subjects include researchers, fellowship opportunities, cooperative agreements, and
other scientific and technological regional information.

Demonstration of INFOCyT Project in Chile
In coordination with the Scientific and Technological National
Commission of Chile (CONICYT) in Chile, RedHUCyT provided a demonstration of the INFOCyT
project during the exhibition "Information and Communications Technology:
Strengthening the Hemisphere for the 21st Century", held in Santiago on April 16-18,
1998, in parallel to the II Summit of the Americas.
